2023 Ford E-Transit, economy and ecology
It's efficient, practical and versatile, just like its gasoline-powered sibling, but the Ford E-Transit relies on a 100% electric powertrain and fast recharging capability to get it around. This van, with more urban pretensions but uncompromising work capabilities, offers undeniable comfort for its two passengers and embarks on Ford's latest technologies to guarantee worry-free domestic or commercial use.
A complete range
The E-Transit isn't just a van; it's a real variety of possibilities. Whether as a standard van, chassis cab or cutaway, it can be customized to suit the needs of its owner. Buyers will also have to choose between three different roof heights and wheelbase lengths, increasing the load capacity from a minimum of 6,985 litres to a maximum of 15,689 litres. However, the E-Transit has no towing capacity. The maximum payload for the van is 3,880 pounds, rising to 4,513 pounds for the cutaway model. To add utility to pleasure, the E-Transit offers an optional onboard generator called Pro Power Onboard.
Electric and powerful
To power the 2023 E-Transit, a single motor is available, regardless of the version chosen. It's an electric motor with 266-hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, powered by a 68 kWh lithium-ion battery. For recharging, the E-Transit can rely on either Level 2 or Level 3 fast charging stations. Recharging will take 8 hours or less than 45 minutes on a fast terminal. A mobile charger is supplied and can recharge the E-Transit at home.
Entertainment and safety
To ensure the comfort of its occupants, the 2023 E-Transit features not only two manually- operated reclining vinyl seats but also a host of technological features. The SYNC4 system comes as standard, with a 12-inch multifunction display and a connected navigation system. A safety- maximizing system is available, adding driving aids to navigation, including traffic sign recognition, intelligent adaptive cruise control (ACC), intelligent speed assistance and intersection assistance.
Easier driving
Already very maneuverable, the Ford E-Transit adds numerous systems to make driving even easier. Standard features include collision warning and lane departure warning. Optional features include reverse sonar and a 360-degree camera. Blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, side assist and reverse brake assist round out the safety tools available for the van.
