2026 Ford E-Transit
Since its launch, the 2026 Ford E-Transit has represented a significant milestone in the electrification of commercial vehicles in Canada. Designed primarily for businesses and fleet operators that demand reliability, versatility, and productivity, this fully electric van receives several updates for 2026 that make it smarter, more efficient, and better suited to Canadian operating conditions. Available as a cargo van or chassis cab, with low-, medium-, or high-roof configurations and two body lengths, it offers up to 487.3 cu. ft. (13.8 m³) of cargo capacity in its extended-wheelbase high-roof configuration.
Electric Powertrain
Under the skin, a single rear-mounted electric motor delivers 266 horsepower (198 kW) and 317 lb-ft of torque, powered by an 89.9-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Estimated driving range reaches approximately 255 km in combined driving conditions, making it well suited for daily urban delivery routes. Charging can be completed using an 11.2-kW AC charger, requiring roughly six hours on a 240-volt connection, while optional DC fast charging is also available. A dual onboard charger is now offered to help businesses accelerate charging cycles when operational demands require it.
Enhanced Comfort
For 2026, Ford introduces a standard vapour-injection heat pump to the E-Transit lineup. This system improves cabin heating efficiency during cold-weather operation while helping preserve battery range. Ford Co-Pilot360 is now standard across all models and includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane-Keeping Assist, and Auto High-Beam Headlamps. The available Co-Pilot360 2.0 package adds Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, and a 360-degree camera system.
Technology
The 2026 E-Transit cabin becomes increasingly digital with the SYNC 4 infotainment system displayed on a 12-inch landscape-oriented touchscreen. The system features enhanced voice recognition and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. An available 8-inch digital instrument cluster provides real-time information on energy consumption, remaining driving range, and battery status. A standard integrated 5G modem supports a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to ten connected devices, helping crews stay productive while on the road. The available Pro Power Onboard system supplies up to 2.4 kW of exportable power for tools and job-site equipment, effectively serving as a built-in generator.
Connectivity
The 2026 E-Transit comes standard with Ford Pro Telematics, allowing businesses to monitor vehicle location, analyze driver behaviour, and schedule maintenance in real time. Vehicle Integration System 2.0, available on chassis cab and cutaway models, enables operators to control body equipment directly through the 12-inch touchscreen. A Ford connectivity package also includes connected navigation services and unlimited Wi-Fi access during the first year of ownership.
Design
On the outside, the Ford E-Transit retains the practical, squared-off profile of the conventional Transit while incorporating a sealed grille with blue accents and distinctive E-Transit badging. The charging port is conveniently located at the front of the vehicle for easier access. A new Wild Green Metallic exterior colour is available exclusively to fleet customers. Inside, versatility remains a priority, with standard vinyl bucket seats that can be upgraded to cloth upholstery, along with generous storage solutions throughout the cabin. Low-, medium-, and high-roof configurations are available, with the high-roof model offering up to 2.06 metres (6 ft. 9 in.) of interior standing height.
